Major Project: Idea

Helen, Chris and I have been talking about making a football related film for years now.. So what better chance to make one, then for our major project! This will be our biggest one yet, therefore we have made a description of the idea so we can get potential backers and interest:

What is Sunday League?

Football. It's the most popular sport in the world. Played and watched by over 3 billion people and while Ronaldo, Messi and Co get all the fame and glory playing at the best stadiums with the best match officials, your local team is probably playing on a pitch with a dog turd or two, an overweight referee and someone's dad as the linesman. Welcome to the world of SUNDAY LEAGUE.

The series follows the fictional Grove Green FC - the laughing stock of Kent's 2nd Division and struggling for a team. The captain's a lady's man, The centre back's a red card magnet and their striker has never scored a goal. After the recent mass exodus of players and their manager to a rival team, we join the lad's determined to turn their luck around.

The show centres around 4 main characters:

Dean - The Captain. A talented footballer with an eye for a lady. Or 2. Or 3. He's a man on a mission to get the team back to their winning ways. Starting with a search for a manager.

Tom - Dean's Best friend. A tough tackling centre back with a temper that often get's him sent for an early shower. Allegedly, he's found himself a Solid 10 girlfriend - although no one has ever met her...

Nath - The Goalkeeper. A level headed, History student with a secret. Shy and lacking confidence until he hits the pitch where he takes balls to the face like a champion.

Ollie - The joker. Every team has an Ollie. The person you stick up front out of the way to minimise the damage caused when they are near their own goal. Hopeless with women but the life and soul of any party.

This is a series we believe has buckets of potential and legs. Lovely, lovely legs! I mean they are slightly hairy but what can you do. It's something we are incredibly passionate about. And YOU could help make this small project grow into something massive! We hope to push this project upon completion into pilot film festivals.

The pilot episode is to be filmed in February 2016 but are writing a full 6 episode series.

What makes this Unique?

We are telling a story that anyone who's encountered non league football - Women or Men will relate to.

And.. It's written by a female - How many male led sitcom's can say that?
