Studio Production Unit: Equipment for Domestic Violence Shoot

This is a big shoot with multiple rooms being used; therefore lots of different equipment are needed to cover all angles. We only get one take for each set up, so we have to make sure all the equipment are suitable and in place properly. Here is a list of what we are going to use:

iMac in Lecture room 2 - recording the room via quicktime and webcam

2 GoPro cameras in Lecture room 2 hidden amongst the chairs

Audio recorder underneath table in Lecture room 2 to record all audio

Clip mics on actors in Lecture room 2

2 iMacs in base room 2 - recording the test subjects walking past

DSLR In production room 1 (the auditioning room) filming out into the corridor

DSLR in Base room 1 mixed in with tripods next to printer recording victims walking through door

Studio Production Unit: Domestic Violence Treatment

PURPOSE – Social experiment to show publics reaction to male on female/female on male violence and people's preconceptions.

Location: Board room, Maidstone Studios

The idea-outline

We are setting up a fake audition to take place within the TV studios. However, taking the audition will be 3 real applicants (each at different times) sitting with the fake auditionees while unaware of the stunt taking place. During the auditions, a couple whom will be inside the waiting room with the rest of the auditionees will have a fight on two separate occasions, one with the man hitting the women, the other with the women hitting the man. The whole point of this is to see how the applicants will react during both circumstances.

The Test subject will be greeted at the door by the assistant producer, then walked through base room 1 into base room 2, past the auditioning room (where auditions will be taking place (actor 1 will be getting auditioned)) and told to wait in the auditioning waiting room.
When they enter this room there will be 3 fake actors waiting inside, one of whom will be actor 2. Once the Test subject is seated, after a while of waiting actor 1 will then enter into the room and sit next to actor 2, and the assistant producer will call through a fake actor to the auditioning room.

Because actor 1 has seen actor 2 quickly put away a mobile phone, this makes actor 1 suspicious and being to question actor 2 accusing them of cheating. After a few seconds this becomes a heated discussion with actor 1 intimidating and quietly harming actor 2, using threatening behaviour in the process, actor 2 will quietly shout out in agonising pain to signify that they’re being heart. While this is happening we will be waiting to see if the test subject will react or say anything to what is taken place in front of them.

The plan

Auditioners
5 people
3 - Fake actors - Seated in the waiting room
1 - Actor (in waiting room) Jamie Edwards
1 - Actress (in waiting room) Emma Fitchett
1 - Actor/tress getting auditioned - will be Jamie or Emma

Fake producers/director
3 people
2 - In the auditioning room
1 - introducing the auditioners and guiding them to the waiting room

Test subjects
Beth
Rory
Louie
