COMM – Presenter; “As you may’ve heard, Margate has recently had a small portion of fame from the latest TV comic Al Murray, who has recently visited the seaside-town to stand against UKIP’s leader Nigel Farage.”

EXT; ESTABLISHING L/S; of Margate fish and chip shop, Dave walks out with chips in his hands and introduces
COMM – Presenter; “Standing for South Thanet, Murray’s ‘Free United Kingdom Party’ has ‘common sense’ legislations, such as changing the pound to £1.10, and Greece to be bought and operated by the Kent County Council.

In parallel with SFX; Effect making Shot Move In and Out once very fast. As if the image ‘Scratches’ with the SFX.

Move to M/S at “That’s why I’m...”. Lead to Dave walking past camera.
COMM – Presenter; “Now I know these legislations seem a bit far fetched. But hey that’s just my opinion! But with only 37% of 18 - 25 years olds voting at the last election, the reality of the situation is that most young people are switching off from politics completely. So could this new comedic route put the 'ting' (+ sound effect) back into voting? That’s why I’m down here in Margate, to see what the people themselves think!”

M/S; Dave with ‘Al’ and ‘Nigel’.
COMM – Presenter; “Well I’ve luckily been able to get in contact with the UKIP boss Nigel and Potential Pub Landlord Al. How we doing guys?”

EXT; M/S; Nigel responding with a wave, PAN to Al responding with a thumbs up

EXT; Same location. M/C/U; Dave talking to Al and Nigel.

Move to M/S; Zoom out to show Dave Nigel and Al walking off camera to find people of Margate.
COMM – Presenter; “Now I’m not going to get into a debate about who should have the MP spot, instead we’re going to leave this to the public. Come on then guys, lets see what Margate think!”

Go to the pub for Al Murray. Film VOX POPS normally however edit could be a brief answer and short explanation.

GRAPHICS; Tally showing how many people have said either of their names

GRAPHICS; could have banner on bottom showing tweets from the two parties.
COMM – Interviews


COMM – Presenter; “Seeing as we know these guys both like a pint or two… who would you buy a drink for?”

SFX; ‘Ting’ sound for every time one of the two’s names are said.

EXT; SEQ; C/A – Murray drinking a beer, with Nigel looking ashamed. Show some funny contrast between the two whilst getting interviews.

C/A; Shots of Margate just incase.
COMM – Al & Nigel “...”

Aim for around 6 seconds.

“So why don’t you vote?”

“Do you realise what these parties are offering you and how much it could affect your life?”

EXT; End of SEQ; M/S – Dave with Al and Nigel. After VOX POPS have finished, Dave announces who got the most (aim to make it equal voting to stay biased!
All could be eating an ice-cream as it is a ‘sunny seaside coast’. Both Nigel and Al could throw their ice cream on the floor?
COMM – Presenter; “Well I think we’ve let Margate have their say, and it looks like we’re back at square one, you both got ‘x’ points! I suppose we better let the real election take place. Now back to the show!”
