This is my finished trailer for this project. It is called "The Meeting" and it stars Alex Brown (fitness trainer) and Toby Hull (criminal). They meet in the trainers home and only one can triumph:

Storytelling Unit - Trailer Clothes and Props
Criminal - For the criminal I used a dark hoodie. This played on the stereotypes of a typical hooligan. He also used a large knife (fake) which made it obvious to the audience that he is a villain.
Storytelling Unit - Trailer Location
I decided to choose Strood as the location of my trailer. Not only are the roads well lit, but the house is perfect for my characters lifestyle
Storytelling Unit - Script
My main problem with my drafts is not setting the scene properly therefore making it difficult for the reader to understand the location. I have therefore worked hard on setting the scene by describing the places in more detail.
I have done the same with the characters. Before I described their personality, whereas now I have described their facial expressions, clothing and body language. This will give the readers a much clearer image of each character and their differences.
Storytelling Unit - Trailer Research
I originally came up with the idea of using "Kasabian - Club Foot" as my soundtrack when I remembered the film "Goal - The Dream Begins" used it in one of their training scenes. This scene included the football player running and it's an upbeat song which is very motivational. I believe using the parallel non-diegetic soundtrack will help set the scene and introduce the genre of my film.

I have decided to change my current background music. I will now be using the instrumental version of the original song as I believe this will make the trailer more effective. Not only are the guitars more prominent, but there are also no lyrics which makes it more like a trailer rather than a music video.

After careful consideration, I have chosen this song to be played in the background of my trailer:
Work Experience - Take Me Out

After more research, I realised the distributors of the films are shown in the trailers. Sometimes located at the start of the trailer, sometimes in the middle.
Due to the layout of my trailer, I have decided to place them in the middle as this will help separate the different characters and their scenarios.
Storytelling Unit - Trailer Research
After researching current action/thriller film trailers, I started to notice the common uses. Many of them use words/sentences in between different clips. Not only does this break up the trailer well, but it also informs the audience the key plot of the film (which is one of the main ideas of a trailer). The trailers also use many "fade" transitions, which makes it easier for the audience to follow due to it running smoothly. Both of these techniques are used in this trailer:

Nearly all trailers start off with a black screen. This eases the audience in, otherwise the trailer would feel rushed and the audience would get lost.... This is why the use of transitions and black screens are vital to a successful film trailer.
Storytelling Unit - Filming
Today I switched to in front of the camera as I was starring in Roxanne's trailer. I played Jed - a young man who has a wife and son. He's very kind, charismatic and always puts family first. This role was very enjoyable to play
Storytelling Unit - Filming
2nd day of filming was really good. We only had a short time before it got too dark, but I managed to get all the scenes I wanted. Filming is now complete, so now it's time to digitalise all the clips and start editing
Storytelling Unit - Filming
Found this which links in well with my story and characters:
Storytelling Unit - Filming
I've become confident with the camera, especially as today went really well. All the inside scenes are done. Tomorrow I move onto the outside scenes which include both characters running
Storytelling Unit - Ending idea
After Knuckles gets killed, Mike's mum walks in which means Mike killed Knuckles for no reason... Knuckles was telling the truth!
Storytelling Unit - Trailer Introduction
I have decided to create a 2 minute trailer for the next part of my storytelling unit. This will take place inside and outside of a house in Strood, Kent. I will be including parts of my script which I think will grab the attention of my audience - with the main focus being on them running (start of my script). This will introduce the characters and help the audience distinguish their different lifestyles. It may then finish with them meeting in the house, with a heartbeat dissolve effect on the close-ups of their faces and weapons..... knife vs dumbbell.....
